Position Summary

We are seeking a Director level Business Partner to energetically and expertly represent Light & Wonder's Global People Capability team by actively partnering with the Americas Region Leadership to effectively support their people (we refer to them as creators).

Position Summary:

The Director of People Capability is a member of the Gaming Americas Leadership Team and responsible for planning, collaborating on and carrying out the people capability agenda within the Americas region of the Gaming business. Primary stakeholders include Gaming Americas senior leadership and management, global and regional People Capability leaders and teams, and all Light & Wonder Gaming creators who live and work in the Americas.

This Director will maximize the impact of people capability initiatives to ensure superior organizational performance and the achievement of business goals. Key competencies include simplification of complexity, acceleration of business, communication of information, collaboration, and advancement of people capability. Budgetary responsibility includes management of labor and non-labor people-related expenses in line with the Gaming Americas annual budget.

The Gaming Americas business is multi-disciplinary and ranges from Game Studio design and development through production, install and servicing of numerous and different casino games. The Director of People Capability will need to adapt advice and support across different business types, functional groups, geographic locations, and cultures. Based at our world headquarters in Las Vegas, the Director will benefit from being co-located with our largest leadership, creator and customer presence-allowing them to intimately see Light & Wonder's amazing talent make industry best games and products.

The Director will effectively and efficiently fulfill the following duties:

Leadership

  • Leads, manages and attains high performance of a team of people capability business partners who are aligned to specific organizations within the Gaming Americas Region.

  • Understands and keeps current on commercial dynamics within the gaming industry.

  • Identifies future people capability needs and proactively develop solutions to address any gaps by collaborating with leadership and people capability centers of expertise.

  • Partners with executive and management teams to identify and develop talent, succession plan and facilitate intentional talent movement across the business.

  • Serve as a trusted change agent who expertly understands and communicates changes while actively capturing feedback and relaying that to continually improve.

  • Fosters an overall positive and productive experience for creators and teams.

  • Implements business change programs which may include mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures, restructuring or outsourcing initiatives, office relocations or changes, return to work initiatives, etc.

Culture & Engagement

  • Effectively develops and maintains relationships with members of the leadership team to establish and maintain credibility by demonstrating excellent partnership and support.

  • Coaches leadership team members and creators to achieve top potential, including pushing back or correcting when required.

  • Coaches People Capability Business Partners along professional acumen lines and consistently embodies high performance and company values as a positive role model.

  • Champions the company as a Great Place to Work and seeks to improve the creator value proposition internally and externally.

  • Seeks to maximize creator engagement described as individual and team behavior which reaches optimal productivity and satisfaction.

Organization Development

  • Creates People Capability strategic plans designed to achieve the Gaming Americas annual plan through fulfillment of business strategies and management.

  • Develops and implements commercial and operational solutions that meet the needs of the business and build added capabilities where required.

  • Effectively conducts regular individual and group meetings to drive KPO achievement, coordinate work, and collaborate with key stakeholders.

  • Leads organizational design and selection work including refined or new operating models, ways of working, project or program governance, career architecture, etc.

Employee Relations

  • Deliver effective employee relations support on a day to day operational and strategic basis to support the business.

  • Develops relationships with creators in each organization and maintains frequent contact to keep a pulse on their sentiment beyond what engagement surveys provide, and uses this information to shape management and people capability support.

Other

  • Travel to regional locations estimated at less than 20% of work time.

  • Adheres to health & safety requirements to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Actively looks to continually improve.

  • To perform any other duties as required.

Qualifications

Work Experience

10-15 years of People Capability experience with at least 2 years of managerial responsibility directly managing direct reports.

Education

Bachelor's degree in human resources, business management, psychology or related field. Master's degree in complementary field preferred (for example, if bachelor's degree in human resources then master's degree in business would be preferred).
