Senior Manager, Finance:
This role will be responsible for developing accurate financial forecasts, budgets and strategic plans, performing financial analysis and managing an efficient planning and reporting process for the Univar Solutions North America Chemical & Solution business. The role will focus on supporting the critical initiatives of the business by providing Supply Chain financial leadership. A successful candidate will bring financial insight and data-driven decision-making front and center to the organization.

What You'll Do:
Financial Reporting and Analysis

Generate and monitor daily and weekly business performance reports on Volume, cost, and assets.

Capture market-driven, carrier, and mode or transportation trends and incorporate them into forecasts and long-term plans

Assist with the preparation of the monthly Leadership Team and Corporate operating review templates, scorecards, and metrics.

Evaluate monthly financial results, providing valuable insights and analysis which will guide fact-based decision-making by the leadership team. (e.g., - P&L, cash flow, capital investment, and working capital).

Translate data into timely and meaningful management insights through the right metrics and interpretation, such as:

  • Cost, volume variance, and trends
  • OPEX and delivery cost analysis
  • Throughput and Warehouse key performance indicators
  • Working capital productivity
  • Maintenance review and District support
  • Return on capital

Budgeting and Forecasting

Support the preparation of the regional annual operating plan (AOP) and monthly/quarterly forecasts.

Prepare periodic scenario and sensitivity analyses with financial models.

Coordinate forecasting of regions and districts

Facilitate clear, accurate, and timely communication of information to US and Corporate leadership teams

Work collaboratively across Finance functions to perform analysis and forecasts.

Strategic Plan

Assist in developing the regional five-year strategy and related financial model.

Coordinate with commercial and supply-chain teams on key initiatives. Assist in developing execution plan and tracking mechanism for accountability.

Recommend action plans to the regional leadership team to enhance financial performance.

Team Management and Process Improvement

Build a hard-working team via effective coaching and training.

Drive "performance with purpose" culture through employee empowerment and operational improvement

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance from fully accredited four-year institution is required.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years' work experience in Accounting/Finance with a track record of continual promotion to progressively reach more responsible positions.
  • Working knowledge of source data systems (SAP, BW), excel, finance master data, and data flows across multiple systems; solid PowerPoint skills.
  • Working knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, management reporting and analytics, planning and forecasting, cost flows, accounting policies and procedures.
  • Financial modeling skills in excel and reporting skills in Tableau.
  • Past experience working in a multi-cultural and global environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of the distribution industry and chemical industry is preferred.
  • MBA and/or CPA a plus.
  • Critical thinking in review of results and problem solving.
  • Enterprise and ownership thinking, with intellectual curiosity and strong desire/drive to learn about all aspects of business.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Highly motivated leader who embraces change and is a champion for continuous improvement.
  • Strong influence skills including the ability to see through different lenses, able to customize communication styles and leagues to deal with all levels and functions of staff and management personnel in resolving problem situations.
