Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Supports fidelity of implementation of Pyramid Model in all classrooms and centers.
* Collaborates with the Education team to develop appropriate behavioral strategies to support
children with challenging behaviors in the classroom.
* Conducts case consultations regarding possible child MH or behavioral concerns with staff and
families.
* Conducts classroom and center-based child observations to assess interpersonal interactions and
determine if additional MH support/resources are needed to meet child's needs.
* Discusses observations regarding a child's behavior with families and potential services that could
be beneficial to child's development, in coordination with the program's Early Learning Inclusion
Specialist and Mental Health Specialist.
* Prepares observation and assessment reports and assists with referrals to appropriate resources
including MH organizations in the community.
* Works with families to support the needs of family and child to align educational strategies to the
home environment.
* Provides staff and families education regarding mental health and emotional wellness, and
supports them in needed mental health interventions, including the use of home learning
activities/PEER Cards.
* Works with the Head Start program team to coordinate parent workshops to promote active mental
health awareness and family engagement in meeting the behavioral health needs of children and
families.
* Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required.

Job Requirements:
1. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred in the field of social work, clinical psychology, or related
field.
2. Experience working with children and families in ethnically diverse low-income communities
required.
3. Must have CPR and First Aid Certification or required to obtain within the first year.
4. Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
5. Travel required locally or long-distance (as needed) for work-related meetings and functions.
6. Must have a valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
* Knowledge and understanding of infant and toddler mental health; experience working in
collaboration with education teams to provide Mental Health Support strongly preferred.
* Ability to learn Pyramid Model including reliability in TPOT and TPITOS.
* Ability to communicate with parents and community partners effectively; ability to interact
effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
* Bilingual is a plus.
* Demonstrated customer service skills and commitment to follow-through.
* Ability to maintain a disciplined routine within a fast-paced work environment.
* Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
* Demonstrated computer literacy skills, especially using Google Suite apps; spreadsheets,
basic data management systems and internet navigation.
* Must be honest, dependable, and able to meet deadlines.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to sit most of the time with some bending and reaching.
* Ability to stand, walk, and bend periodically.
* Ability to engage in repetitive movement of wrists, hands, and fingers - typing and/or writing.
* Ability to work frequently at close visual range (i.e. preparing and analyzing data and figures,
accounting, transcription, computer terminal, extensive reading).
* Ability to receive and respond to oral communication.
* Ability to exert up to 60 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move
objects/children.
